Using File Transfer

Two types of file transfer are provided by PASSPORT.

For FTP file transfer there are two different methods for performing file transfers.

Configuring the file transfer method

  1. Select the Options>Transfer menu command

  2. Select either IND$FILE or FTP in the File Transfer Method area.

  3. If you selected FTP click on the FTP Server... button and configure the FTP Server for the Host Settings, Firewall and optional SSH and SSL.

  4. Click the OK button to save and exit.

Sending a file

  1. Select the Transfer>Send menu command.

  2. Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.

  3. Enter the Host file name.

  4. Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.

  5. Click the Transfer button.

Sending a list of files

  1. Select the Transfer>Send menu command.

  2. Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.

  3. Enter the Host file name.

  4. Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.

  5. Click on the New Item icon (Alt+N) to add a new file to the list of files to transfer.

  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 as many times as necessary.

  7. Click the Transfer button.

Receiving a file

  1. Select the Transfer>Receive menu command.

  2. Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.

  3. Enter the Host file name.

  4. Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.

  5. Click the Transfer button.
