Two types of file transfer are provided by PASSPORT.
IND$FILE (only for TN3270 emulation)
FTP
For FTP file transfer there are two different methods for performing file transfers.
Transfer>Send and Transfer>Receive menu commands
FTP Client
Configuring the file transfer method
Select the Options>Transfer menu command
Select either IND$FILE or FTP in the File Transfer Method area.
If you selected FTP click on the FTP Server... button and configure the FTP Server for the Host Settings, Firewall and optional SSH and SSL.
Click the OK button to save and exit.
Sending a file
Select the Transfer>Send menu command.
Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.
Enter the Host file name.
Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.
Click the Transfer button.
Sending a list of files
Select the Transfer>Send menu command.
Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.
Enter the Host file name.
Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.
Click on the New Item icon (Alt+N) to add a new file to the list of files to transfer.
Repeat steps 2 through 5 as many times as necessary.
Click the Transfer button.
Receiving a file
Select the Transfer>Receive menu command.
Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.
Enter the Host file name.
Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.
Click the Transfer button.
Receiving a list of files
Select the Transfer>Receive menu command.
Enter the PC file name or click the Browse... button to locate the file.
Enter the Host file name.
Select the file transfer scheme or click the Customize... button to create a new file transfer scheme or click the Browse... button to locate a predefine scheme.
Click on the New Item icon (Alt+N) to add a new file to the list of files to transfer.
Repeat steps 2 through 5 as many times as necessary.
Click the Transfer button.
FTP Client
The PASSPORT FTP Client can be launched using the following methods.
Use the Transfer>FTP menu command.
If you are using PASSPORT PC TO HOST, you can also use the Start >All Programs>PASSPORT Client>PASSPORT FTP Client Windows command.
The PASSPORT FTP Client uses its own configuration files and has its own User Guide.
